I got the itch to go play in the dirt and decided to go on Super Bowl Sunday. I figured it would be a good day since most of the whackos would be staying home to watch the game. I had two other Hummer owners scheduled to go along but one canceled since the weather forecast wasn't looking the best. I also took along a friend, Richard, to ride shotgun with me.
It was snowing when we arrived in Gorman. We could see blue sky to the west so we decided to head on in to the park.
We took Sterling Canyon for our first run. There was a bit of snow on the ground towards the beginning.
At the end of the trail, things got really slick. This turned out to be the just the beginning of the slimy mud.
I took the other driver, Ron, over to the 4x4 practice area for his first time climbing over rocks. He was a little hesitant at first but changed his mind when I offered to spot for him. I could see the grin on his face get larger as me made it towards the top.
Next, we found some hills to play in. Once again, Ron could not stop grinning!
I had a lot of problems in the mud, mainly keeping traction. My A/T tires were not made for this slick stuff. Richard manage to take some video of me trying to get up a muddy slope: LINKY.
Overall, it was a great trip. Nobody got stuck and we drove back out of the park upright. As usual, all the pics can be found on my site here: LINKY
