Wheeling in Anza-Borrego

Ellen and I took a mini vacation last weekend in Anza Borrego. It started off as a trip with my Hummer club. We stayed at the Palm Canyon Resort Friday night with three others from the club. This allowed us to be well rested for trip in the desert. Saturday morning, met up with the gang making a total of eleven Hummers to take to the trails.

Shortly after we started in Cyn Sin Nombre, we pulled over to investigate the mud caves.

We stopped for lunch at Diablo Dropoff. What great timing for a full stomach!

Next came the narrow path of Sandstone Canyon.

We encountered some aftermath from the Easter earthquake that pretty much blocked the path so we had to turn around.

We finished the day by playing around the dunes in Ocotillo Wells SVRA.

Sunday was spent cruising around Borrego Springs. There are some awesome steel sculptures all over the area.

We also took a drive out to Font's Point. It reminded me of a miniature Grand Canyon.

On the way out, we rescued a couple who thought it was a good idea to go off-roading in a Ford Mustang.

It was an awesome weekend!
