Holy crap! I can't believe Thanksgiving has passed by already! Where does the time go?
I recently spent a week in Dallas, Texas for the Large Installation System Administration (LISA) conference. There is nothing like hanging out with hundreds of computer geeks! Talk about a laptop frenzy! I didn't take any pictures because I was so busy there. Even after hours, I spent a lot of time meeting others and talking tech with them.
I didn't leave empty handed. I finally got a real Stetson cowboy hat. I have always wanted one, but they are either crappy or just plain expensive in California. All I need now is a big belt buckle . . .
Thanksgiving was simple this year. We had both sets of parents over for the traditional feast. Leftovers only lasted two days, so I guess we didn't over do it.
I have been also helping a good friend get his business, Covey Engineering, on the internet. I am keeping it extremely simple for now by using Google for Domains. It is pretty cool. It set this up for my own domain and just love it. GMail has one of the best spam filters and web interfaces and even now supports IMAP. Add in the calendar and document writer and you have an awesome small office (not bad for free, eh?).
Christmas . . . here we come!
