A Mother of a Weekend

Whew! What a weekend. I am actually glad to be back at work.

We woke up Saturday morning to a "little" mess in the laundy room. We had a brand new jumbo-sized container of liquid laundry detergent (the kind you get at Cosco or Sam's Club) that decided to jump off the shelf and break open on the floor. I made a quick run to the local Smart & Final to purchase a mop and some defoamer (a little trick form my janitorial days). Three hours later, I had it all cleaned up. The biggest problem was moving the washer out of the way, but the soap on the floor made it very easy. I was so glad we had tile there instead of linoleum. At least is was just soap and not something nasty like cooking oil!

Sunday was great. both Ellen's and my folks came over for a ham dinner. The weather was nice and the food was good. Couldn't ask for better conditions to have a family gathering! Pictures to follow when I get off my butt and process them (yeah, it is hard plugging the camera into my laptop and clicking on the import button).

NOTE - Don't eat a bunch of deviled eggs before eating asparagus . . .

  1. Wow, sorry to hear about the suicidal soap. Funny you mentioned the oil.....we had half a gallon of corn oil spill in the barn. (We put it on the horses' grain for added calories and shiney coats.) What a mess and it still isn't completely cleaned up.
